Welcome to the Finch-Keele Community Association
What we do
There are many individuals with wonderful ideas but so few ways for folks to, not only express their imaginings for our community, but to regularly connect with one another to discuss local changes.
Keele & Finch has seen a rapid increase in development proposals. We want to ensure these changes do not unintentionally harm residents in the neighbourhood.
Mission
In the face of rapid development, we work to protect affordability, promote public spaces, and ensure our neighborhood remains accessible to all. We are committed to fostering a strong sense of belonging through tenant and homeowner empowerment, environmental stewardship, and the celebration of our community’s heritage and diversity.
Goals
The Finch Keele Community Association aims to:
Discuss resident desires and issues across the neighbourhood and set priorities (from simple to more complex things such as graffiti removal, dog park, cricket playing area, landlord issues, cost of living).
Survey the need to plan for future actions (tenant organizing, attending community planning meetings, Ontario Land Tribunal cases etc.).
Develop and share informational materials regarding current issues and developments in the neighbourhood to promote more sustainability and equity.
Aid non-profit organizations by providing a forum for collaboration.
